Academic Support
The school counseling department helps students through a variety of methods for academic support. Interventions take place at varying levels throughout the school year. Our process is structured in the RTI/PBIS model of support and intervention which breaks actions into different tiers as shown below.
Tier 1: Universal support that is offered to all students like TCB time, and 7th hour
Tier 2: Targeted support towards a small group of students like counselor offered small groups on student academic skills and or SAT team meetings.
Tier 3: Individual targeted support towards specific students like meeting with counselor for goal setting/academic planning, 504 plan creation, SAT team meetings
Student Assessment Team (SAT)
A method of intervention involving a multidisciplinary team of teachers, parents/guardians, administrators, counselors, social workers and school psychologists that review individual student data/support and recommend additional services. A SAT meeting may be requested by school staff, parents/guardians or any other stakeholder. If you are interested in learning more about the SAT process or have a SAT request, please contact the building team coordinator listed below.
