Congratulations to the PHS Girls Varsity Basketball team on their 36-34 win over Otsego last night! Alyssa Weldon led the team with 11 points and Brooke Timpe had 9. Way to go, Trojans - PLAINWELL PRIDE!

Our Lifelong Learners had another great adventure yesterday at their Casino Lunch and Play event. Participants enjoyed the buffet and trying their luck playing slot games. It was a great day filled with fellowship and lots of FUN! A special thanks and huge shout-out to Gun Lake Casino for hosting the Lifelong Learners, we appreciate you making it a special day for our Community Retirees and Senior Citizens!

PCS is excited and honored to introduce Megan Black as the new Head Coach for the PHS Varsity Volleyball team. While this is a new role for Megan, she has already been a part of the Trojan community over the last few years. Currently Ms. Black is a 3rd grade teacher at Gilkey Elementary and has served as the Freshman Volleyball Coach for the last two seasons. Coach Black brings many years of volleyball experience to her new role, playing volleyball in high school and at the college level, as well as coaching in JV and club volleyball roles. We are thrilled to welcome Coach Megan Black in this new role. Congratulations to her and the Plainwell Volleyball program - GO TROJANS!

The Plainwell High School 2nd Trimester Parent-Teacher Conferences are next Thursday, January 18 from 4-8 PM. Conferences will be held virtually via Google Meet. Sign-ups are on a first-come first-served basis. Please check your email for a conference sign-up link. Teacher links will be shared with PHS families on the morning of January 18 (parents can use Google Meet without a Google account, please click on the link provided on the day of conferences). ATTENTION SOPHOMORE PARENTS! The Counselors would like to invite you to a presentation to learn about all the education opportunities at PHS in 11th and 12th grade. They will begin scheduling in February for the 2024-2025 school year and this is a great opportunity to understand all the available options. The presentation will be from 6:30-7:15 PM in the PHS Media Center (Library). It will be recorded and posted afterward for parents who cannot attend in person on the High School Facebook page.

Congratulations to Kathryn, Essie and Mia, as they are Plainwell Middle Schools' "Book and a Bonus" winners for December. "Book and a Bonus" is a monthly reading incentive program for MS students that was supported by Ransom District Library and an anonymous donor in December. Their support allowed PMS to award THREE winners!
