Last week, the Kindergarten classes from Starr Elementary took a field trip to the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum. Everyone had a great time exploring all the hands-on, interactive exhibits and learning through play. ⭐️ It was a great adventure for the Rock Starrs!


The 3rd, 4th and 5th graders from Cooper Elementary had a great trip to the Miller Auditorium where they saw the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra perform this morning. What a wonderful experience for the Koalas. 🎵🐨


To kick-off reading Month, Starr Elementary had a special mystery reader: Maci Zuniga stopped by to share invertebrate presentations to several classrooms. Pictured here are Mrs. Amaezechi 4th graders listening intently to Ms. Zuniga as she shared a story about insects.


Plainwell Power competed strongly in their first weekend of State Championship competition! Highlights from the weekend include:
- Sylar Luckett (7th grade) took 5th place in the state. This was a huge accomplishment for Sylar, as she was competing with HS 10th graders!
- Elliot Wiltse was top 10 in the state
- Justin Moss fought hard and set multiple PR’s, but finished outside of the top 10

The 5th graders in Ms. Wright’s class at Cooper Elementary have been working on a secret project for reading month!They interviewed teachers & staff at Cooper and made them personalized bookmarks. Yesterday, they delivered their special creations. What a fun and thoughtful project.


OPENING ROUND OF DISTRICTS = ✔️! Congratulations to the Plainwell Varsity Girls Basketball team on their 34-31 win over a tough Hopkins team in the opening round of Districts tonight. Way to go, Trojans!
Next up, they play Otsego on Wednesday, March 6 beginning at 5:30 PM at Otsego HS.


Students from Mrs. Mielke’s 2nd grade and Mrs. Heise’s 4th grade classes at Starr Elementary met in the Library where they enjoyed special time together playing games, getting creative and having so much fun! Way to go, Rock Starrs! ⭐️

"Book and a Bonus" is a monthly reading incentive program for MS students that is supported by Ransom District Library. Their support allowed PMS to award THREE winners this month!

Join us for Plainwell’s 2024 Art Hop to stroll through shops in downtown Plainwell and enjoy various artist creations. Plainwell student art will be featured during the event, so please join us in supporting our Trojan artists on Friday, March 8 from 5-7:30 PM. High School and Middle School art will be on display at Design Street. Elementary art will be on display at Ransom District Library.

It was a very successful day for the KoalaBots from Cooper Elementary School, which represented the Plainwell Robotics Club at the VEX IQ State Championship at Monroe County Community College on Saturday, March 2. They double-qualified for the 58-team event by earning a Teamwork 2nd Place Award and an Excellence Award, the highest award in VEX Robotics, during the competition season.
The team placed 22nd after 8 qualifying matches, and placed 9th in the final round. Together with their alliance partner, they also achieved the 5th highest match score for the day out of a total of 232 matches; and they placed 19th in the Skills competition.
Congratulations to the KoalaBots team members: Carter (4th grade), Parker (5th grade), Lucille Morse (5th grade) and their coach John Morse on a great day of competition! PLAINWELL PRIDE!


More exciting State Final news from the Trojans! Congratulations to the PHS Wrestlers for their strong finish at the State Finals today at Ford Field! The following wrestlers placed:
- Madison Nieuwenhuis is a STATE CHAMP
- Adin Young placed 3rd
- Avery Lynch placed 6th
- Michael Gonyeau placed 8th
It was a great couple of days of competition, congratulations to all the state final wrestlers - PLAINWELL PRIDE!


7TH IN THE STATE! Congratulations to the PHS Varsity Cheer team on an incredible day at CMU for MHSAA State Finals. The team finished 7th in the state! Congratulations Trojans!


Congratulations to our Middle School Band on their outstanding performances at Festival yesterday! The 7th grade Band earned a Division II (excellent) rating and a Division I (superior) rating in sight reading! The 8th grade Band earned a Division I (superior) rating (also earning a Division I in sight reading)! We are so proud of their hard work and dedication! GO TROJANS! 🎶🎼🎵


The PHS Cheer team's next stop...STATE FINALS! The Varsity Competitive Cheer team will be competing at Central Michigan University in State Final competition tomorrow. Last night, they held a special send off performance at PHS and today they were sent off with lots of cheers and PLAINWELL PRIDE as they left for the competition. From all of us at PCS, GOOD LUCK AND GO TROJANS! 💙


Congratulations to PHS Senior, Liam Troutner, who won the Andy Miller award for most outstanding participation in the Southwestern Michigan High School Ski Race League. He also placed 11th in the top 15 male racers in the conference. Congratulations to Liam, TROJAN PRIDE!
