It was a fantastic way to showcase their hard work on such a big stage. Huge congratulations to the Geckos for representing our school district so beautifully!

Let’s take a moment to look back at Plainwell High School’s recent production of Almost, Maine! This show marked the second performance by the PHS Drama Class and it was truly remarkable! The students excelled in their roles both in the cast and crew. The production was exceptional and both performances highlighted the incredible talents of our drama class students. Special thanks to everyone who attended one of the shows and to all those who played a part in bringing this production to life.
The PHS Red Cross Club held a blood drive where there were 17 volunteers working, 41 donors, 30 units of blood collected and 90 lives saved. Thank you to all that supported the blood drive. GO TROJANS!
Field House progress update! Over the last month, work has continued on the pool tile and bleachers were added in the gymnasium. It has been exciting to see these various interior projects come together. Soon, the Trojans will be competing in the new Field House and we owe it all to the Plainwell community for supporting the 2019 bond proposal! We look forward to welcoming our students, families and community to this new facility in December! GO TROJANS!
Prior to the end of the first trimester, the Plainwell High School students had a special presentation from award-winning author, educator and public speaker - Liza Wiemer. During her presentation, Ms. Wiemer, shared with the students the importance of being an upstander against hatred and injustice. The presentation was hosted at PHS by the Anti-Defamation League and funded by Bookstock. It was an amazing opportunity for the Trojans to learn about compassion, respect for diversity and community.

Middle Schools Boys Basketball weekly results!
🏀The 6th grade basketball team has started their season out strong with two impressive wins against tough rivals Otsego and the Trojans of Sturgis. Their hard work and determination are really paying off.
🏀 The 7th grade basketball team has carried their chemistry from last year into this season, starting off hot with a 2-0 record. They secured an impressive overtime victory against Otsego and won a hard fought game against a tough Sturgis team.
🏀 The 8th grade basketball team is facing some tough injuries, but they are still going and competing, giving their all. Their resilience and determination show how inspired they are to do better every game.
The season continues for all three teams on Monday, against a difficult Vicksburg team. Good luck, Trojans!
Charles, a second grader from Starr, was the lucky winner of the Spend a Day with Officer Farris from Starr Elementary's Fall Fest raffle in October. His grandmother placed the bid on his behalf, as he aspires to become a police officer when he grows up.
During their morning together, Charles and Officer Farris made their rounds and enjoyed a fantastic private tour of Plainwell Public Safety, which included a surprise meeting with an Allegan County Sheriff Police Dog. They even shared a special lunch at McDonald's before wrapping up their day. Special thanks to Officer Farris and Plainwell Public Safety for making this a memorable experience for Charles!

Registration is open for our upcoming Winter Tae Kwon Do program. Join us to improve coordination, gain strength and increase your flexibility while learning self-defense techniques, taught by Mr. Mitch. Tae Kwon Do is open to participants 7 and up. Program will run from December 2-February 17 from 5:30-7:00 PM. Practices will be held at the Middle School Cafeteria (except 12/2 will be held at Starr). Congratulations to Estephanie Matias, Mason Ritchie and Ally Souhan for their participation and performance in the WMU MidFest band last night at Miller Auditorium! They had the opportunity to connect with students from across Michigan, work with a clinician from Texas and perform alongside the WMU Concert Band. Estephanie even had the honor of reading some program notes to the audience! We are incredibly proud of these talented musicians for going above and beyond! 🎶

Students in Ms. Koenig’s CPR/First Aid class at PHS had a special visit from the Michigan State Police Department last week. During the visit, students were able to showcase what they learned through their medical and trauma first aid training. It was a great learning experience, special thanks to the MSP troopers for sharing your knowledge with the Trojans!
The registration deadline for Hoopsters Basketball has been extended until 11/17 at midnight. Hoopsters Basketball is the official developmental league for the Plainwell Trojans Girls and Boys Basketball Program for 3rd-5th graders. Hoopsters is a 3 on 3 format, which is organized as a way to develop the skills necessary for youth basketball players to compete at the next level while keeping fun at the center of every player’s experience. Program will run from December 9-March 1 (practice and game days, times & locations TBD). Cost is $60 per athlete. Calling all PHS students! There is a fan bus for tomorrow’s Regional game. Tickets are $9 each and can be purchased online or at the game. 📣 PLAINWELL EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR! 📣 Last week, Linnea Lucas, the PCS District School Psychologist, was honored with the Plainwell Educator of the Year award during the Night of Recognition event organized by the Otsego-Plainwell Area Chamber of Commerce. This event not only acknowledges the exceptional educators in Plainwell and Otsego but also celebrates local businesses and individuals dedicated to enhancing our community.
Mrs. Lucas was nominated by the Plainwell administrative team and celebrated this achievement alongside the Director of Special Education, Cathy Moorman and the principals of Gilkey and Starr Elementary, Cody Gregory and Kari Luckett. Congratulations Mrs. Lucas and thank you for your dedication to PCS - PLAINWELL PRIDE!

As a team, they will be collecting monetary donations that will go 100% towards the sponsorship of families in our community this holiday season.
