Earlier this week, the students at Cooper Elementary had a special visitor. Mr. Bill, the manager from FanFare, came to Cooper where he donated free comic books to their school. Each student was able to pick a comic book to take home. It was a fun opportunity for the Koalas. Special thanks to PHS Grad, Mr. Bill, for his generous donation to Cooper Elementary! Congratulations to the Class of 2023! Last night provided the perfect evening at Streidl Field to honor our seniors at their commencement ceremony. We are incredibly proud of this graduating class for all of the hard work and dedication to their education during their time at PHS! Thank you for allowing Plainwell Community Schools to be a part of your educational journey - Trojan Pride!

Congratulations to PHS Senior, Matthew Beck, on signing his letter of intent for wrestling at Muskegon Community College! We are incredibly proud of Matthew’s athletic achievements while at PHS and wish him all the best next year. From all of us at PCS, congratulations and best wishes to Matthew! Trojan pride!

Earlier this week, the 5th grade students at Gilkey Elementary went on an adventure where they spent time panning for gold in the Nature Lab to finish up their unit on the Gold Rush. Students traveled back in time to 1849 to travel on the Oregon Trail to pan for gold, led by Prospector Jack. It was a great experience, as students earned and collected gold through various activities in the Nature Lab. In the end, they could use their gold to purchase from the General Store. What a great learning experience for the Geckos!

The Starr Elementary Rock Starr Kindergarteners in Mrs. Fillar's and Mrs. Mudget's classes made kindness rocks during their countdown to Kindergarten letter K. They painted rocks, wrote kind words on them and are now donating them to the ABCC Healing Rock Garden Art for cancer patients at the Borgess Ascension Cancer Center. Way to go Kindergarten Rock Starrs!

Congratulations to the PHS Track and Field team members who have advanced to the State Finals on June 3! - Thai Nguyen, Hiro Nguyen, Henry Cox and Isaac Veen qualified for the State Finals in the 3200 Meter Relay - Michael Griffey qualified for State and was the Regional Champion in both Shot Put and Discus - Ava Collier is the new Regional champion in Pole Vault and is headed to compete at the State Finals Way to go, Trojans - PLAINWELL PRIDE!

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Soccer team on their victory over St. Joseph last night in the first round of MHSAA Districts 5-0! Goals were scored by Kayla Baar (2), Laken Whittington, Alayna Eldred and Cayden Henckel. Assists were made by Whittington, Baar, Weldon and Eldred. The shutout goes to goalkeeper Eliza Harris. Great job! Next up, they move on to round 2, taking on Otsego at Lakeshore High School on Tuesday, May 30 at 5:00 PM. Go Trojans!

Gilkey Elementary held their Student and Staff of the Month ceremony. Each month, Gilkey teachers select one student and a staff member who they felt did an outstanding job throughout the month and the recipients are celebrated at a special award ceremony with their families.
