Dear Cooper Families,

Yesterday evening the Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution supporting the implementation of a mask order for all schools in Kalamazoo County.  Cooper Elementary falls under the jurisdiction of Kalamazoo County which requires that PCS implement the order.

Starting on Monday, October 4th, the Kalamazoo Health Department Emergency Masking Order will be in effect for all Cooper Elementary students, staff, and visitors during the school day.  The requirements of the Kalamazoo order are the same as the previous order.  No parameters, procedures, or expectations have changed from what we were required to implement to start the school year.

Attached to this communication is the updated press release from Kzoo HD for your review.

We apologize for the confusion this may have caused, please know that we make decisions based on the best information we have available at the time.  We continue to do our best to adjust to the ever changing conditions and requirements of this pandemic and to keep our students and staff safe.  We thank you for your understanding and support as we move forward.

Sincerely,

Matthew J. M. Montange
Superintendent
