January is School Board Recognition month and before the month ends, we would like to take a moment to thank our Board of Education for their dedication to our school district. They work tirelessly to provide the best for our staff, students and families; including their hard work with the ongoing bond projects. Thank you to Andrea Barrows, Julli Bennett, Jill Dunham, Rex Hall, Jr., Mike Hopson, Anthony McNeel and Shannon Zabaldo for representing PCS so well - you are greatly appreciated!
Recently, the Board members and administrators had the opportunity to do a walk through to see the progress on the fieldhouse (pool and gymnasium). The project is well underway and is estimated to be completed in Fall 2024. We are looking forward to many great competitions and community programs at the new facility, so many great things are ahead at PCS!

It’s Snowcoming Week! Throughout the district, our buildings are celebrating with various dress up days. At Cooper Elementary, they had fun with dress like a teacher day. Way to go, Koalas!

At Cooper Elementary they wanted to focus on positive lunchroom behavior, so everyday one upper elementary and one lower elementary classroom is selected to receive a golden spatula. To earn this award, students must show kindness and respect to each other, be tidy while they eat, clean up after themselves and chat amongst themselves at a respectable noise level. The classrooms that earn the most golden spatulas throughout the month earn a VIP lunch to celebrate their hard work. Students get to sit at decorated tables on the stage with place settings and a treat. Special community guests are invited each month to celebrate with our students. Most recently, the students from Mrs. Mudget’s and Mr. Kigar’s classes had lunch with Officer Farris and Officer Rantz. Great job to these students and thanks to our special guests for joining the Koalas to celebrate this recognition!
