Join us for the Starr Parents Association Fall Carnival TOMORROW (Saturday, October 21) to enjoy food trucks, fun & games, raffles, a silent auction, fall treats, local vendors and much more! The Carnival will be held from 12:00-3:00 PM at Starr Elementary! It’s School Bus Safety Week and we couldn’t end the week without recognizing our amazing transportation team! We are so grateful for our bus drivers, who work hard each day to provide safe transportation for our students! We are excited to welcome back the Mother/Son Hockey Night as the Kalamazoo Wings take on the Allen Americans in the 40th Annual Green Ice Game on Saturday, March 16 at 7:00 PM. Mothers and sons will enjoy the game, a $5 concession voucher, a FREE knit hat and a voucher for a FREE game of bowling at Airway Fun Center! Tickets are available for $17/adults, $14/kids (12 and under). Transportation is not available & parking is $5 per car at the event. Registration is now open for the PCS Hoopsters Basketball program for PCS 3-5th grade students. Hoopsters Basketball is the official developmental league for the Plainwell Trojans Basketball Program. Hoopsters is a 3 v 3 league that is organized as a way to develop the skills necessary for youth basketball players to compete at the next level while keeping fun at the center of every player’s experience. Calling all PCS 3rd-5th graders! Have you heard about Battle of the Books? Battle of the Books is a book-based quiz competition for 3rd-5th grade students at Plainwell and surrounding elementary schools. Students read six incredible stories together and then compete in a quiz bowl type competition in February 2024.
Interested in participating this year? Join us for an Informational Meeting to learn more about Battle of the Books on Tuesday, October 24 from 6:30-7:30 PM at Gilkey Elementary’s Media Center. A Zoom link will also be available for those that are unable to attend in person.

The Young 5 students at Cooper Elementary just finished a special unit where they compared apples - size, weight, color and taste. They made patterns using red and yellow apples, graphed their favorite color of apples and used the apples to show ways to make five! To end their unit, they made applesauce! What a fun (and delicious) project for the Koalas! 🍏🐨🍎

IT’S RIVALRY GAME DAY! Join us tonight (10/6) to cheer on the Trojans at their rivalry football game against the Otsego Bulldogs. Game begins at 7 PM at Otsego HS. It is a “Black Out” game, show your support of the Trojans by wearing black (or your favorite Plainwell gear).

Thanks to the student's hard work and the generous donations by many, Cooper Elementary’s Fun Run fundraiser was a great success. On Thursday, the Koalas walked, ran, played and enjoyed popsicles at their Fun Run. Thank you to all that donated to make this fundraiser an incredible success, especially the top donors (logos pictured)! Way to go, Cooper Koalas!
Special recognition goes out to Lucy Morse (5th grader) whose design was selected as the winner for the 2023 Fun Run t-shirts. 🐨
