PHS WRESTLING: Congratulations to the PHS Wrestling team who won the Wolverine Conference this weekend! The team won 1st overall at the tournament on Saturday and 8-0 in the Conference Dual Meets! Way to go Trojans!
Also, congratulations to Rodd Leonard, PHS Wrestling Coach, who was awarded Coach of the Year! Mr. Leonard says it was a team effort and gives the credit to Jaylyn Bohl and Travis Reardon for the incredible season - they did it together!!! What a great season for Trojan Wrestling - Plainwell Pride!
PHS CHEERLEADING: Congratulations to the PHS Cheerleaders who had an awesome weekend of competition! On Friday, the team took 3rd in the Wolverine Conference, with 2nd place only one point away! On Saturday, they competed at Portage Central where they received a first place finish. The team also celebrated the 2022 Seniors for Senior Night. What an outstanding weekend for PHS Cheerleading - Trojan Pride!
PCS ROBOTICS: Congratulations Team Robo Gamers for winning the Jenison Robotics VRC HS Only Invitational Late Season Tipping Point Tournament today (Saturday, February 5). Freshman Danielle Klein, Elliot Cassada, Jordan Bessler-Bly and Fiona Murray placed 3rd after 7 qualifying matches. They were invited to join the 1st place alliance captained by the RoboHawks from Fennville for the playoff rounds where they outscored the 2nd place alliance 107-90 in the championship match. Both teams in the winning alliance have now qualified for the Michigan High School VEX Robotics Championship Tournament to be held Sunday, February 27 at Kettering University. The Robo Gamers were also presented with the Skills Award for achieving the highest Skills score among all teams — 272 points, a new record for them! The Robo Gamers are coached by Dan Klein.

HIGH SCHOOL EXPO: The Plainwell Middle School 8th graders attended the High School Expo yesterday where they learned about exploratory options for next year. At PHS, they will have the opportunity to take art classes, PE, business & technology, newspaper, world languages, band & choir, forensics, TV production, wood-shop, CPR/first aid and more! There are so many great learning opportunities for our students at PCS!

PHS WRESTLING: The PHS Wrestling team traveled to West Ottawa on Saturday for a team tournament. They ended the day with 1st place as team Dual Champions, defeating #9 ranked Hart High School in the finals with a score of 49-27 - out scoring 5 teams 277 to 106. The Wrestling team improves their record to 21-2 and travels to Vicksburg HS on Wednesday to seek their quest to remain at the top of the conference! Way to go and good luck Trojan Wrestling!
PCS ROBOTICS: Plainwell held their inaugural robotics tournament today! Congratulations to the coaches and students on their hard work and a great competition. A special thanks to Mr. Montange, Mrs. Stamos and Dr. Wright for volunteering to help run the event today! Trojan pride!
PHS CHEERLEADING: The PHS Cheerleading program has started off the 2022 season strong, earning Grand Divisional Champs, as well as a close second place where the team set cheer records in round 1 and 2! The team is currently ranked among the top 10 in the state for the highest scoring rounds and overall scores. Along with their success in competition, the team has also recently included a skill in their round 2 routine (a back tuck), a skill that the team has not used during competition since the 2011 season. Way to go, PHS Cheerleading! Trojan pride!
BOARD OF EDUCATION: Plainwell Community Schools is excited to welcome our new Board of Education member Ann Filkins. Mrs. Filkins was appointed at the January 17, 2022 meeting to serve on the Board of Education through the next election in November 2022. Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Ann Filkins on her appointment to the Plainwell BOE!
WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE: Recently Plainwell High School held their Red Cross Winter Clothing Drive where they collected 1,546 articles of clothing that were donated to Martin Area Resource Center. Great job, Trojans!
TROJAN WRESTLING: Congratulations to the PHS Wrestling Team who are off to a great start this season with 14 wins and 2 losses. So far this season, they have placed 1st in the Climax duals, 2nd at Gull Lake team duals and 3rd at Sparta. The team is currently in 1st place in the conference. GIVING BACK: Over the last few weeks, the school buildings throughout the district participated in collecting items for the Plainwell Volunteer Christmas Project. Thank you to all that donated to help make this a successful project for families in our community!
In the Middle School, the Student Council coordinated loading up the donations to deliver to the Christmas Project and the National Junior Honor Society helped sort and package the donations to deliver to families. It was amazing to see our students come together to lend a hand during the holiday season - Trojan Pride!
PHS HOLIDAY SPECTRUM CONCERT: Last week, the PHS Band & Choir programs performed at the 2021 Holiday Spectrum Concert. It was an evening filled with amazing holiday performances - great job to the band and choir students, as well as the directors for providing an amazing and festive show!
