Congratulations to the Plainwell Middle School Robotics team "Trial and Error" who won first place at the Grandville Robotics Tournament held on Saturday, at their new Competition Center. The team placed 13th after seven qualifying matches and were invited to join the 3rd place alliance by Team "Pinkalicious" from Grandville for the eight-alliance final round playoff. The two teams defeated the 1st place alliance in the final match 69-45. Team "Trial and Error" members Malachi and Hunter are pictured with their robot and championship trophy. They are coached by Charles Crouch. Way to go, Malachi and Hunter - Plainwell Pride!
Have you heard...there are two tutoring options available at the Middle School this year: TutorMe and After School In-Person Tutoring. Both options are available for 6-8th grade students who are looking for homework assistance or for support in a specific class. Please check your email for more information. Mai (8th Grade): Not only is Mai an excellent student, she is a kind human. Mai is conscientious with both her school work and her peers. She is patient and helpful, and she always has a ready smile. Her academic work is outstanding, but it is her positive attitude and determiniation that make her so remarkable.
Olyvia (7th Grade): Olyvia is the sweetest person ever! She is always helpful to her peers. She works so hard to make sure she has done things correctly and with 100% percent integrity. She is always willing to participate and lives with Plainwell PRIDE each day! We are so honored to have her as a student and thrilled to be a part of her life. Way to go, Olyvia! You rock!
Cesar (6th Grade): Cesar is such a bright light each day at the middle school! He seems to truly love being at school with his peers and teachers. He is kind, thoughtful, and positive. Cesar takes the tiime to greet his teachers by asking about their day, and he is respected by his classmates. Cesar models Plainwell PRIDE every day!

Hailey (8th Grade): Hailey has such a compassionate heart for her classmates. She does not hesitate to jump in to help peers when they are struggling in class. Not only does she offer support, but she is their cheerleader too, encouraging and celebrating once they understand the information.
Essie (7th Grade): Essie is a wonderful student who exemplifies Plainwell PRIDE. She works hard, holds herself to a high standard, and is always willing to help others. Essie can always be counted on to give her best, and help others achieve their goals. She is very deserving of being recognized for student of the week.
Shane (6th Grade:) Shane always brings a positive attitude to class! He is very eager to learn new things and is always asking great questions. Shane's leadership in class often inspires others in class to join in on classroom discussions.

It’s School Bus Safety Week and we couldn’t end the week without recognizing our amazing transportation team! The Plainwell Counseling Center is offering free group meetings for girls ages 12-15 where they will offer a safe environment for adolescent girls to connect with their peers and learn more about self-esteem, self-care and relationships with others. The group meetings are held on Tuesday afternoons from 4:00-5:00 PM at the Plainwell Counseling Center (319 Park St Plainwell).

We are excited to welcome back the Mother/Son Hockey Night as the Kalamazoo Wings take on the Allen Americans in the 40th Annual Green Ice Game on Saturday, March 16 at 7:00 PM. Mothers and sons will enjoy the game, a $5 concession voucher, a FREE knit hat and a voucher for a FREE game of bowling at Airway Fun Center! Join us to cheer on the Middle School Football teams at their home football game against Otsego tomorrow (Wednesday, October 18). The games will kick-off at Streidl Field with the 7th grade team at 4:30 PM and the 8th grade team following at 6:15 PM. Blake (8th Grade): Blake is always showing PRIDE and can be counted on to be a leader! He's a great role model for others and works very hard in class. Blake sees school as an opportunity and continues to be the best version of himself everyday.
Rylee (7th Grade): Rylee is a wonderful leader in all of her classes. She can be counted on to always show Plainwell PRIDE by encouraging others and setting a good example. Super creative, Rylee often takes work home to continue to spend time on it, making sure what she turns in is her 100% best effort.
Wyatt (6th Grade): Wyatt is super friendly and nice to everyone. Transitioning to Middle School is tough and it takes guts to be as outgoing as Wyatt is. He works very hard, helps without being asked, and can always be counted on to be doing the right thing.
