Guest readers! To celebrating Reading Month, Mr. Manting (Middle School Principal) and Mr. Hattendorf (Middle School Assistant Principal) stopped by Cooper Elementary to read to their 5th grade students. They also spent time sharing information about Middle School and answered questions from the incoming fall 2025 6th graders. It was a great experience for the Koalas!

Gilkey Elementary held their February Student and Staff of the Month ceremony. Each month, Gilkey teachers select students and staff who they felt did an outstanding job throughout the month and the recipients are celebrated at a special award ceremony with their families. In February, students and staff were selected for their helpfulness and kindness. Way to go, Geckos!

Through this Mystery Science experiment, these Rock Starrs learned NO!! These types of experiments provide such a fun way for students to learn about the world around us!

On February 26 and 27, the 7th and 8th grade bands performed at theMSBOA District 11 Band and Orchestra Festival at Portage Central HS.
The students played wonderfully and both groups earned overall Division II “Excellent” ratings and Division I “Superior” rating in sight reading!
These students work hard and represented Plainwell with PRIDE! A job well done to our young musicians as well as to the band team (Mrs. Wicklund, Mr. Rushford and Mr. Hepinstall), as well as their student teachers (Mr. Pflieger and Mr. Falk)!

Congratulations to Plainwell High School's Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble for earning straight first division "superior" ratings at MSBOA Band Festival on Friday, the highest possible ratings that can be earned! Judges feedback was overwhelmingly positive for both bands. Wind Ensemble even earned all A's in every category from every judge; a remarkably difficult achievement to accomplish. Mr. Hepinstall, Mr. Rushford and their intern Mr. Falk are incredibly grateful for the students' hard work and commitment to excellence. Please join us in congratulating our hard working band students 🎶 PLAINWELL PRIDE! 🎶

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT! Congratulations to 2013 PHS graduate, Adam Licavoli, and his team who put Plainwell math and science on the moon on Sunday! Adam was part of the Firefly's Blue Ghost Mission Lunar landing team, which is part of the NASAs commercial lunar delivery program. His role over the last four years was in Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineering where he worked on the math and software that went into the autopilot on the 100% autonomous landing. This mission was the first commercial company in history to fully and successfully land on the moon. During landing day, he sat in mission control where he gave a "GO" for the GNC console. According to Adam, "I'm grateful for the education I received at Plainwell. I'm writing to share where it has taken me." Today's Learners are truly Tomorrow's Leaders - congratulations to Adam and the Firefly's Blue Ghost Mission Lunar landing team on completing this successful mission - PLAINWELL PRIDE!
