Yesterday, a group of PHS students attended a career fair at Wayland Carpenter and Millwright Training Center. The students were able to see three different apprenticeship options (Carpentry, Millwright and Flooring). It was a great experience for these PHS students! On May 6, the Wayland Carpenter and Millwright Training Center will be holding a Parent Curriculum Day. Even if your student didn’t sign-up to attend the career fair yesterday, you are still welcome to attend. It will be a great opportunity to see what post high school options are available through their programs. Please scan the QR code for more information and registration details.

Recently, all three 4th grade classes from Starr Elementary took field trips to Lansing where they visited the Michigan History Museum and the Michigan State Capitol Building. Their visits were filled with facts about Michigan’s history and government. Several students even had the opportunity to meet State Representative Matt Hall. These field trips provided many amazing experiences and phenomenal learning opportunities for the Rock Starrs! Special thanks to Matt Hall and his office for taking the time to meet our Starr fourth graders - it made for an extra special visit to the Capitol!
