
Registration is open for our upcoming Spring Tae Kwon Do program. Join us to improve coordination, gain strength and increase your flexibility while learning self-defense techniques, taught by Mr. Mitch. Tae Kwon Do is open to participants 7 and up. This twelve-week program will run from March 3-June 2 from 5:30-7:00 PM. Practices will be held at the Middle School Cafeteria (720 Brigham St, Plainwell). PHS Wrestling had a competitive weekend, with several individual athletes qualifying for Regional competition.
Congratulations to Nieuwenhuis, Wanamaker, Vega, Lynch, Dranikowska, and Swanson from the Girls Wrestling team for advancing to regionals. This achievement sets a school record and includes three sets of siblings progressing to regionals: Nieuwenhuis, Vega and Lynch.

Gilkey Elementary held their January Student and Staff of the Month ceremony. Each month, Gilkey teachers select one student and a staff member who they felt did an outstanding job throughout the month and the recipients are celebrated at a special award ceremony with their families. In January, those who were selected did an awesome job showing respectfulness. Way to go, Geckos!

The Cooper Elementary second grade students had a special presentation earlier this week from KC Orthodontics. They learned about dental hygiene and the importance of proper brushing and flossing. Special thanks to KC Orthodontics for presenting to the Cooper Koalas!


Plainwell Middle School students recently came together to enjoy an all-school party. This after-school gathering offered a range of activities, such as crafts, open gym, face painting and games. A special thank you goes to the Middle School Parent Club and the parent volunteers for organizing and hosting this wonderful event for our 6-8th grade students – it was a tremendous success!

Due to ice and difficult travel conditions, Plainwell Community Schools is closed today (Thursday, February 6). The SAFE and ECEC programs will open at 7:30 AM.

What an awesome night at the 2025 PHS Snowcoming Basketball Game last Friday! Highlights include: three awesome basketball games against Sturgis, a gym full of school spirit, the announcement of the 2025 Snowcoming Court and the crowning of the King and Queen. Special congratulations to Chad Winenger and Sadie Boven who were crowned the Snowcoming King and Queen! What a great night to be a PHS Trojan!

On Saturday, the Swim and Dive team performed exceptionally well at Lakeview, competing against 30 other middle schools in Michigan during the MISCA event. Here are the results from the competition:

Two teams from the Plainwell Robotics Club competed in tournaments on Saturday, February 1. Highlights from the competitions include:
Middle School Team Error 404:Team Name Not Found (pictured) traveled to Bellaire for the 27-team event there. They finished the six qualifying matches in 15th place, were invited to join the 8th place alliance, and lost in the quarterfinals to the tournament champions. The team members are Ava, Anne. Mason and Lucas. Their coaches are Marcus Anderson and TJ Wilkinson.
Meanwhile, The Gooder Gadgets, from Cooper Elementary School, visited Charlotte for their 40-team tournament. Team members are Harper, Kinzlee and Zander. The team is coached by Kate Bates and Matt Bates. They finished in 38th place after the qualifiers.


The 2025 Daughter Dance is this Saturday, February 8 - bypass the registration line at the event and register today by visiting plainwellschools.org/page/youth-programs (cash and check only accepted at the door).
Join us for an evening of fun for PCS K-6th grade daughters. Event will be held at Plainwell M​iddle School from 6:00-8:00 PM (doors open at 5:30 PM for pictures only) and includes a formal digital photo, DJ, selfie station, refreshments, raffle and a flower.
NEW THIS YEAR! Formal photos will be digital this year! Photos will be uploaded to a shared digital file and families will download and print their photos from there.
