Earlier this week, PHS Holocaust Literature students visited the Zekelman Holocaust Center in Farmington Hills. Through a guided docent tour tailored to their coursework, students deepened their understanding of the Holocaust. Students heard a second-generation survivor share his father's powerful story. In an emotional presentation, he shared his father's enduring message: cherish life and live in the moment. The day was filled with many amazing learning opportunities for the Trojans!
PHS Woodshop students have been working on a special project for Plainwell Public Safety (PPS). With generous lumber donations from Home Depot, Mr. Beachler, Mr. Hayward and the PHS students collaborated to build a self-extrication wall for PPS. This unique wall will serve as a training aid for firefighters, helping them practice breaching walls and learning how to maneuver with their gear through wall studs, all while navigating potential obstacles such as electrical and water lines during a fire evacuation. Yesterday, the PPS team visited PHS to pick-up the new wall and personally express their gratitude to the students and teachers for their valuable contribution to this important training resource. We 💙 partnering with our community to help Today's Learners and Tomorrow's Leaders - PLAINWELL PRIDE!
