February is Heart Health month and at Cooper Elementary they have a very special reason to be recognizing the month, as one of their students (Maggie) will undergo open heart surgery for a congenital heart defect. On Wednesday, they kicked off the month with a special assembly where Maggie read a short book about her heart surgery, the students learned about her condition and Principal Keorkunian introduced Cooper's heart health calendar. Each day, they have various activities to recognize heart health month and to support Maggie. We are proud of our Koalas for taking time this month to focus on their health and to support one of their own Koalas! From all of us at PCS, we wish Maggie a successful surgery and recovery!

As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow (Friday, February 3). Have a great weekend - GO TROJANS!

January is School Board Recognition month and before the month ends, we would like to take a moment to thank our Board of Education for their dedication to our school district. Pictured here are Andrea Barrows, Julli Bennett, Jill Dunham, Rex Hall, Jr., Mike Hopson, Anthony McNeel and Shannon Zabaldo (also pictured is our former BOE President, Amy Blades) who helped break ground on the new Trojan pool and gymnasium. Thank you to each of our Board members for representing PCS so well - you are greatly appreciated!

Please note! There is no Open Family Swim at the PCS Pool on Friday, February 3. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to welcoming our families back for Open Swim on Friday, February 10.
