Let’s take a moment to look back at Plainwell High School’s recent production of Almost, Maine! This show marked the second performance by the PHS Drama Class and it was truly remarkable! The students excelled in their roles both in the cast and crew. The production was exceptional and both performances highlighted the incredible talents of our drama class students. Special thanks to everyone who attended one of the shows and to all those who played a part in bringing this production to life.

The PHS Red Cross Club held a blood drive where there were 17 volunteers working, 41 donors, 30 units of blood collected and 90 lives saved. Thank you to all that supported the blood drive. GO TROJANS!

Field House progress update! Over the last month, work has continued on the pool tile and bleachers were added in the gymnasium. It has been exciting to see these various interior projects come together. Soon, the Trojans will be competing in the new Field House and we owe it all to the Plainwell community for supporting the 2019 bond proposal! We look forward to welcoming our students, families and community to this new facility in December! GO TROJANS!

Prior to the end of the first trimester, the Plainwell High School students had a special presentation from award-winning author, educator and public speaker - Liza Wiemer. During her presentation, Ms. Wiemer, shared with the students the importance of being an upstander against hatred and injustice. The presentation was hosted at PHS by the Anti-Defamation League and funded by Bookstock. It was an amazing opportunity for the Trojans to learn about compassion, respect for diversity and community.

Last Friday, the PHS Multicultural Club dedicated their day off from school to volunteer at the Life Care Center of Plainwell and embark on a cultural field trip!
At the Life Care Center, students assisted in cleaning and organizing the activity room, played games with residents and raked leaves in the courtyard. This experience was meaningful for everyone involved, and the smiles of the residents made all their efforts worthwhile!
Following their volunteer work, the group attended the Día de Los Muertos "Day of the Dead" Celebration at the Kalamazoo Expo Center. Students delighted in delicious food, lively music and an inspiring performance by a traditional folkloric dance group. This experience truly brought the beauty of the culture to life for our club members!
We are incredibly proud of our students for choosing to spend their day off engaging in community service and cultural learning. It was a memorable day for these PHS students!
