- 2nd place: Aurora Wanamaker
- 3rd place: Grayce Swanson
- 4th place: Makayla Roth

Earlier this week, the Girls Basketball program wrapped up their annual Holiday Giveback. As a program, they raised $3,551 for the Giveback, which will provide dinner and gifts under the tree for local families in our community. Thank you to all the donated to this special fundraiser - GO TROJANS!


‼️ Field House Progress Update! ‼️ Many interior projects have been successfully completed and we are SO CLOSE to welcoming the Trojan community to the new pool and gymnasium!
☑️ The pool tiles and blocks are installed, and the pool is now filled!
☑️ The gymnasium floor is finished, and the bleachers are installed.
As the facility receives its final touches, we eagerly anticipate watching the Trojans compete in the new Field House in early 2025! Once we receive final approval, our teams will start practicing in the new space, and we aim to host the first athletic event by mid-January. Stay tuned for details about the Grand Opening Ceremony soon!
Our continued thanks to the Plainwell community for supporting the 2019 bond proposal! We look forward to welcoming our students, families and community to the new Field House soon! GO TROJANS!


Holiday traditions are so much fun! The atmosphere was filled with joy at Gilkey, Cooper and Starr Elementary Schools as the Middle and High School Choirs performed for students during their annual holiday caroling tour across the district. This cherished event features a mix of beloved holiday classics along with some new favorites. It remains a highlight for all the students and staff involved, with smiles that are truly priceless!


The Boys Swim & Dive team is having an outstanding start to this season! Here are some highlights from the beginning of the season:
- Their first competition took place at the Annual Cereal Bowl Relays. Congratulations to the team members Sam Harper, Alex Steele, Grady Nugent, Ben Sparks and Henry Cox for securing second place.
- Following that, the team competed in the SCC relay meet held in Allegan, where they finished in first place overall! Divers Aidan Ranger and Phil Mathis won in their diving event. Special congratulations to Sam Harper for qualifying for state in the 200 free, 100 free and 100 fly. Great swims by Grady Nugent, Alex Steele, Hiro Nguyen, Oliver Berg, Jonah Cole, Austin Susens, Joseph Hoffman and the entire team!

The PHS Red Cross Club recently held their Winter Clothing Drive. As a school, they collected over 2,000 articles of clothing that will be donated to the Martin Area Resource Center. Way to go, Trojans!

Due to winter weather and difficult travel conditions, Plainwell Community Schools will be closed tomorrow (Thursday, December 12). This closure includes the SAFE and ECEC programs. We wish our students, staff and families a safe snow day!


📣 History was made at Plainwell High School tonight! 📣 PHS hosted their first ever wrestling match for our Girls Wrestling team and they were VICTORIOUS with wins against Gobles and Watervliet. GO TROJANS! 👏🏼👏🏼


The Varsity Boys Basketball team is now 3-0 with a win over Three Rivers last night 41-31. 👏🏼🏀
Next up, they play at Paw Paw on Friday (12/13). Let’s go Trojans!


Three Plainwell Robotics Club teams participated in tournaments at the Grandville Competition Center last weekend. Highlights from the weekend include:
HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITION:
Team "Nuclear Reactors" placed 19th of 67 teams after the qualifying rounds of the High School event, captained the 12th place alliance in the final rounds. They won their first match, but lost in the quarterfinals. "Nuclear Reactors" team members are Lauryn, Jack and Ayden. They are coached by Shannon Fritz.
MIDDLE SCHOOL COMPETITION:
Team "Steak" placed 7th of 24 teams after the qualifying rounds of the Middle School event. They captained the 5th place alliance in the final rounds. Team members are Caleb, Marcus, Tavi and Briana. They are coached by Summer Rosati and Matt Glass.
Team "Rubber Ducky Squad" placed 9th after the qualifying rounds, captained the 9th place alliance, and were presented with the Judges Award. They lost in the quarterfinals. Team members (pictured) are Gabriel, Lennox, Ethan and Landon. They are coached by Summer Rosati and Matt Glass.

Next up on our Fall sports highlights - PHS Swim & Dive! Throughout the season, the team of 11 girls worked hard to have a successful and fun season! Some highlights from the season include:
- Abigail Unser earned the Most Improved Award
- Audra Huberty earned the Coaches Award
- Addison Williams earned MVP for the season, earning ALL CONFERENCE in all four of her events.
- Everyone earned Consolation Finalist, finishing 9-16 in the League
- The team had over 47 personal best times over the 2-day Southwest Central Swim & Dive Conference Championship Meet

🎄Holiday Giveback - TONIGHT!🎄Join the PHS girls basketball teams to support local families in our community during the holiday season. As a team, they will be collecting monetary donations that will go 100% towards the sponsorship of families in our community this holiday season. The goal is to provide families with a full Christmas dinner and gifts under their tree.

Registration is open for our upcoming Love and Logic Parenting Class! The class is available to any PCS family (present or future) on Saturday, February 15 from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM at the Plainwell Performing Arts Center. Cost is $10 (per workbook). The Girls and Boys Wrestling teams kicked-off their season this past weekend! Highlights from the competitions include:
The Girls team traveled to Bangor and had a successful night on the mat. The team placed 3rd out of 21 schools. Bringing home medals were the following Trojans:
- 2nd place: Aurora Wanamaker, Makayla Roth, Avery Lynch and Grayce Swanson
- 3rd place: Hayden Steele, Kora Dranikowska
- 4th place: Mia Johnson
The Boys Wrestling team traveled to Allegan for the Southwest Classic to become the TEAM CHAMPIONS of the tournament out of 16 teams!
- 1st place: Dylan Nieuwenhuis, Austin Gyorkos, Rickey Lynch and Adin Young
- 2nd place: Grady Erlandson and Carter Ritchie
- 5th place: Tyler Cooper and Ben Lynes
