
FINAL DAY TO REGISTER! Girls grades 1-8th grade are invited to join us for the 2023 Girls Basketball Skills Camp from March 11-25. The camp, which is hosted by Coach Stephenson, Staff & PHS players, will be held on Saturday mornings with the following schedule:
- 1st-3rd Grade: 9:00-10:15 AM at PHS
- 4th-6th Grade: 10:30-11:45 AM at PHS
- 7th-8th Grade: 12:00-1:30 PM at PHS
The cost is $30 per athlete with a family rate of $15 for each additional child.

Join us for a Bond Renovation Open House at Plainwell Middle School on Monday, March 6 from 5:30-6:30 PM. All are welcome to attend this special event to see all the bond renovation updates at the Middle School. The Board of Education meeting will follow in the new Middle School Media Center. PCS is excited to welcome Brian Huberty as the new Head Football Coach at Plainwell High School! “My family and l are beyond excited to be coaching back in Plainwell. This is the community I was raised in, teach in, and live in and have a passion to see it be successful”, words from Plainwell High School’s new Head Football Coach Brian Huberty. Brian has taught for 20 years in the Social Studies department and is currently the Instructional Coach for our teaching staff at Plainwell High School. Coach Huberty brings numerous years of coaching experience from Plainwell, Wayland and Parchment. He has been a head coach at all different levels in football, along with assistant and head coach at the varsity level. Coach Huberty also played baseball in college and brings head coaching experience from baseball and softball. During the interview process, he stood out as a leader that believes in building trust and relationships with his players. Through those relationships they work together with the coaching staff and community to build a strong, hard working, positive culture.
Coach Huberty is extremely detail oriented and focused on providing the best experience for our athletes. He has a vision for Plainwell Football that he is excited to share with our football program, along with parents and community members. Coach Huberty will be meeting with our athletes very soon. We’ll also have a Meet and Greet in the spring.

As we continue to monitor the weather and travel conditions, we wanted to provide an update on afternoon/evening activities at PCS. This evening (Thursday, February 23), we will only be holding Varsity level practices, all other activities and events are canceled. We understand many families do not have power or may have transportation concerns, so please do what you feel is best for your family to stay safe. The Freshmen and JV Boys Basketball game that was planned for this evening in Niles has been canceled due to power outages and trees blocking driveways.

Plainwell Middle School’s Eco Club went on a field trip to the South Kent Waste & Recycling Center, Kent County Waste to Energy Facility and Recycling & Education Center. Students saw how our trash can be made into clean energy. They also learned how recycling gets sorted and how the landfill helps manage our waste. Everyone learned so many new things and had a wonderful experience.


Students in Ms. Termeer’s 6th grade Science class at Plainwell Middle School had a fun (and delicious) experiment today. They made slushees as part of their thermal energy unit! Thank you Ms. Termeer for providing this fun learning opportunity for our Trojans!


As a reminder, our Mid-Winter Break is from Friday, February 17-Monday, February 20. We wish our students and families a wonderful break and look forward to welcoming the PCS students back to school on Tuesday, February 21.

It’s National School Resource Officer Day and we couldn’t let the day pass without recognizing our amazing School Resource Officer, Mr. Farris. We are incredibly thankful for all he does for our school and community every day! He goes above and beyond for our students and school community - THANK YOU, Officer Farris!

The Plainwell Middle School students had a special visit from Motivational Speaker, Anthony "TJ" Tyus, on Friday. Mr. Tyus is a character development coach, author, educator and personal trainer who provides uplifting speeches and presentations to students, athletes and beyond all over the country. Students learned about his "no excuses philosophy to encourage the hard work it takes to realizing your dream". His training helped our students prepare for their next opportunity. Special thanks to TJ Tyus for visiting PCS to share your story with our 6-8th grade students.


Plainwell Middle School held their second all-school party of the year yesterday. Students had a fun afternoon with swimming, crafts, activities, open gym, dancing and snacks. A special thanks to the Parents Group for putting together an awesome event for our Middle School students - the event was a hit!
