The Middle School Honors Choir, 6th grade Band and Directors Mrs. Perrin and Ms. Quillian visited each of our elementary buildings to talk about next year’s music options for our incoming 6th grade students. It was a great experience for our Koalas, Geckos and Rock Starrs!

January is School Board Recognition month and before the month ends, we would like to take a moment to thank our Board of Education for their dedication to our school district. They work tirelessly to provide the best for our staff, students and families; including their hard work with the ongoing bond projects. Students in Mr. Herbert’s Tinkering class at Plainwell Middle School invented, built and presented their own board games. It was a great opportunity for the students to show their creativity - awesome job, Trojans!


The Plainwell Robotics Club's High School Team "So Many Problems" and their alliance partner, Jenison High School Team "Sinking Slowly", finished first in the Hudsonville VEX Robotics Tournament on Sunday and have qualified to participate in the Michigan VRC High School State Championship Tournament to be held at Kettering University on February 26. The team placed third after the Qualifying Round and captained the 2nd place Alliance. Team members pictured are (L/R) Owen Ferris, Danielle Klein and Sam Bacon.
Middle School Teams "The Hackers", "Demoted Rookies" and "B.A.T..T.L.E." finished the Qualifying Round in 6th, 11th and 20th place respectively.

On Thursday, Plainwell Middle School 7th grader Joshua Pembrook played the National Anthem at the PHS JV Basketball game. It was an outstanding performance, way to go Joshua! Plainwell Pride!


Due to snow and winter weather conditions, Plainwell Community Schools is closed tomorrow (Friday, January 27). An update regarding the SAFE program will be shared with families that utilize the program in the morning. We wish our students, staff and families a safe snow day!


Congratulations to the Plainwell Middle School Girls Basketball teams on their season opening wins yesterday! The 6th grade team traveled to Comstock and 7th and 8th played at home against Edwardsburg. Way to go, Trojans!


We ❤️ our community! Recently, we had a family in need and three local businesses/organizations stepped up to help in a big way. Special thanks to Walmart, Brock's Towing and North Point Church for stepping in to help one of our Trojan families! We are so thankful for the ongoing support from our AMAZING community! Due to a private event at the PCS Pool, there is no Open Family Swim on Friday, January 27. We look forward to welcoming our families back for Open Swim on Friday, February 3.


Girls grades 1-8th grade are invited to join us for the 2023 Girls Basketball Skills Camp from March 11-25. The camp, which is hosted by Coach Stephenson, Staff & PHS players, will be held on Saturday mornings with the following schedule:
- 1st-3rd Grade: 9:00-10:15 AM at PHS
- 4th-6th Grade: 10:30-11:45 AM at PHS
- 7th-8th Grade: 12:00-1:30 PM at PHS
The cost is $30 per athlete with a family rate of $15 for each additional child.

Congratulations to 8th graders Kohler Smith and Aiden Glass for earning spots in the MSBOA Middle School All-State Band! Kohler and Aiden auditioned among hundreds of students throughout the state to earn this experience. They spent all day rehearsing on Friday with other student musicians and put on a magnificent concert on Saturday morning!


The PMS Wrestling team traveled to Portage Northern this weekend and brought home 15 top 4 medals. Tournament Champions: Aiden Beck, Brennan Dull, Edwin Johnson, Grady Erlandson and Mason Capitano. Way to go, Trojans!


Congratulations to Plainwell Robotics Club's elementary school VEX IQ teams who had another successful weekend. Gilkey team "Gearheads" and Cooper team "TP Titans" joined forces and won the VEX IQ Robotics Tournament at Charlotte. The "Gearheads" placed first and the "TP Titans" placed 2nd after nine matches in the Qualifying Round. The two teams then formed the 1st place alliance and defeated the 2nd place alliance 98-97 in the Final Round. As a result of their win, the teams have received invitations to the State Elementary School VEX IQ Championship Tournament to be held at Monroe County Community College on March 11. Thirty-one middle and elementary school teams from central Michigan participated in the event, including four other PRC teams. Starr team "Robo Sharks" finished the tournament in 5th place and Gilkey team "Robot Guardians" finished eighth. Gilkey team "The Gecko Bots", and Starr team "Short Circuits" finished the Qualifying Rounds in 26th and 27th place.
PRC's Cooper team "The Rocket" had a very successful day, too. They chose to participate in the VEX IQ Tournament at Traverse City - another elementary and middle school event - where they placed 7th (of 33) after the Qualifying Round and finished 5th in the tournament's Final Round.
