MONSTER MASH: Last week, Cooper Elementary held their Monster Mash event. It was an awesome outdoor evening for a costume party as our families enjoyed trick or treating, food trucks, games, and lots of Halloween fun! TROJAN MARCHING BAND: Congratulations on another great competition for the Trojan Marching Band at the West Shore Invitational in Grandville on Saturday! The TMB saw their score go up again from previous competitions! They earned 4th place and the Best Percussion Caption Award for the 2nd time this season! PHS CROSS COUNTRY: The PHS Cross Country teams competed at Regionals yesterday. We are excited to share some results and highlights! ⭐️ The Plainwell Boys Cross Country team finished in third place at the MHSAA Regional meet at Bangor to earn the opportunity to compete at the State Finals next Saturday!! This will be the first trip to the Finals for the Boy’s Cross Country team since 1991! This also marks the first time running at Michigan International Speedway as a team since the Finals were moved to the venue in 1997. Congratulations to Isaac Veen, Liam Troutner, Henry Cox, Thai Nguyen, Donnovan Ryan, Billy Pipkorn and Edwin Castillo! ⭐️ In the Girls race at Bangor, the Trojans finished just outside of qualifying for MIS with a fourth place finish. Led by Josie Longcore’s top-10 finish, the girls ran a great race to move up from pre-race projections by one spot. Josie’s 10th place finish earned her a spot at next week’s State Finals at MIS. Congratulations Josie! Congratulations to our Cross Country teams on a great season and best wishes to the Trojans that will be competing next week at the State Finals - Plainwell Pride!

GILKEY STUDENT OF THE MONTH: This morning, Gilkey Elementary held their October Student and Staff of the Month ceremony. Each month, Gilkey teachers will select one student and a staff member who they felt did an outstanding job throughout the month. In October, the students who were selected did an awesome job being creative. Way to go, Geckos!

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL: Earlier this week, the Varsity Volleyball team played in a Quad at home. The team beat Grand Rapids Catholic Central and Gobles, but lost a close one to Gull Lake. The team played great and had a really good night overall! Trojan Pride!

MS FOOTBALL: The 7th and 8th grade Middle School football teams wrapped up their season last night. Both teams lost, but the 8th grade team scored their first touchdown with 47 seconds to go. TROJAN AQUATIC CLUB REGISTRATION & SWIM TEST: We are just one week away from the 2022-23 Trojan Aquatic Club (TAC) registration and swim test day! Join us on Wednesday, November 2 from 6-7 PM to register your student for the upcoming Winter TAC program which begins on Monday, November 7, 2022. If your student is new to TAC, they must take a swim test. The test will take place during registration on Wednesday, November 2 from 6-7 PM. Participants must be able to confidently swim one length of the pool, on top of the water without assistance to participate in the TAC program. MASB CONFERENCE: This weekend, Superintendent Montange had the opportunity to attend and present at the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) Conference in Traverse City with Mrs. Amy Blades, PCS Board of Education President. At the conference, they presented about Leading with Relationships: A Model for How the Board President and Superintendent Can Work Together to Lead Your District. It was an outstanding opportunity to share about PCS and the importance of putting relationships first within our district. A special thank you to Mr. Montange, Mrs. Blades and our Board of Education for supporting and representing our district so well at this annual conference!
